Bakeries (and first mobile post)

My first mobile post! We are at a bakery for lunch and I got a quiche Lorraine, tart with strawberries, and espresso.

We discovered that bakeries are great for lunch because they 1) have authentic French food, 2) are counter service so we don’t have to wait long for the check, and 3) are cheaper than other lunch alternatives.

We usually have an hour break for lunch during the day, but restaurants move much slower in Europe than the US (they don’t have the fast-paced day like we do) so we often are pressed for time.

I haven’t had time to blog about the rest of our weekend (namely Bastille day!) but hopefully will have time to tonight.

This morning consisted of climbing the Arc de Triomphe and learning about Napoleon Bonaparte through Baron Haussmann’s changes. After lunch we are doing a walking tour of some of his developments, going to the Paris perfume museum, and doing an after-hours tour of the Garnier Opera House!
